The Derbyshire Gritstone Way was conceived by members of the Derbyshire Area Rambler's Association in 1970. 

The route starts at Derby Cathedral and ends in Edale. 

Much of the way follows the eastern Gritstone edges. A booklet was published by Thornhill Press ISBN 0904110885. - A Walkers Guide -The Derbyshire Gritstone Way by Steve Burton, Max Maughan and Ian Quarrington describes the route. 

Unfortunately this booklet is now out of print.
